Our Story
Built from experience. Shaped by the environments we operate in. Rubiconx was founded by Brad Larsen following more than 25 years in the private security industry. With a background in the UK Armed Forces, Brad’s security career began far from corporate boardrooms, working in anti-poaching operations in Zambia and South Africa. Those early years established an approach that still shapes the company today: understand the environment, work with the people on the ground, and build security around what is actually happening rather than what a plan assumes will happen. The name Rubicon reflects the idea of decisive action. The Rubicon River is remembered as the point Caesar crossed knowing there was no simple return. For us, it represents preparation, commitment and the importance of making informed decisions when the stakes are high. From those early operational beginnings, Rubiconx has grown into a security and risk company with a presence in both the United Kingdom and South Africa. Our experience extends across much of sub-Saharan Africa, combining international standards with local knowledge, trusted networks and an understanding of the realities organisations face when operating in complex environments. Today, we support companies with risk assessment, operational resilience, secure transport, close protection, Red Team services, training and crisis support. The business has evolved, but the principle remains the same: understand the risk, prepare properly and enable our clients to keep operating with confidence.
